Overview

Pathologic 2 is a psychological horror and survivor RPG game set in a mysterious plague ridden town. You play as a healer returning home to find the community consumed by fear, sickness, and chaos. This game challenges players to make difficult choices as time runs out and the plague spreads. It allows you to manage the characters' needs while still trying to uncover the secrets underneath the spread of the plague. You explore the town while talking to locals and make decisions based on the information you have which in turn have lasting consequences in a world that has no easy solutions in your journey.

Gameplay

This game has a 12 day structure that requires careful time management to balance survival mechanisms while also investigating the plague and solving problems. The game focuses on managing hunger, exhaustion, and health while interacting with the townspeople. Players must remember to balance their limited resources while investigating the cause of the plague, and decide who to save or to let die while knowing that every choice you make has a consequence.

This game can be brutal to some as it can cause you a stressful time knowing that the lives of the townspeople are in your hands and that every choice you make has a backlash. That being said, although I personally haven't played the game myself, I have seen other people play it and I liked it because of all the mystery and culture the game showcases. Think about the level of realism this game presents to its players, it makes you experience the slow starvation that brings you to the brink of death, as well as the confusion of being deceived and used by others for their own gain. The deep complexion of this story is what brings me to say that this story is deserving of this rating. It makes it interesting and meaningful.
